Product Manager - CYME Software

Eaton is hiring a Product Manager for its CYME Software line, working remotely anywhere in the United States. The role sits in Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division and leads strategy, development, and lifecycle management for power system analysis applications. It is a fit for someone with a background in CYME Power Engineering Software and utility grid planning who wants to own a product line rather than a single feature.

What you will do

• Support product line management with strategic planning for the product line, aligning sales, engineering, finance, and operations.
• Hold profit and loss accountability for the CYME Software offering to meet revenue and margin objectives.
• Track market trends and the competitive landscape while keeping a working knowledge of the product applications.
• Set strategic marketing direction for new features and module development, such as modeling capability, analysis functions, and productivity tools, based on customer needs and competitor positioning, and run product launches.
• Partner with other product managers, product lines, and outside firms to create marketing solutions for specific industries and segments.
• Drive global alignment on product development, marketing initiatives, regional requirements, and segment execution.
• Act as the voice of the customer, setting expectations, goal weightings, and targets with other division functions and sales and channel organizations.
• Report financial results and forecasts to key stakeholders.
• Serve as the offering spokesperson in key customer interactions and negotiations.
• Work with engineering on new product development and upgrades.
• Work with the proposal manager, PMO, and engineering teams on RFXs, including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
• Work with sales, channels, and major accounts to bring the offering to market.
• Present strategy and results to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with product line management on pricing strategy to meet revenue, share, and profitability targets.
• Support product promotion with the marcom team, including traditional materials and online and multimedia assets.

What they are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least five years of background in CYME Power Engineering Software for grid planning, including capacity planning, distributed energy resources integration, and regulatory compliance.
• At least ten years of experience in product management, technical sales, marketing, or engineering.
• Ability to travel up to 20%, some of it international.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future. Eaton will not support CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, or I-485 job portability for this position.

Preferred

• Experience as a distribution planner at a utility company, ideally ten years.
• Deep understanding of the electric utility industry, engineering practices, and grid planning methods.
• Experience supporting sales or field teams, or presenting at conferences.
• Experience facilitating in-person client meetings.
• Ability to identify use cases and develop marketing requirements.
• Experience writing user stories and functional specifications and presenting product roadmaps.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into presentations and recommendations that support decision making.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work within Agile frameworks.
• Knowledge of software development practices and processes.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English, spoken and written. French and English mastery is essential to communicate with colleagues, clients, and partners inside and outside Quebec and to read technical documents.

Pay and other details

The expected annual salary range is $130,000 to $190,000. Eaton notes this is a general guideline; actual pay depends on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.
