Pharmacy Domain Architect at Distro — remote job on CafeRemote

Distro is hiring a Pharmacy Domain Architect for a remote engagement in the United States. This is a mid-level, hands-on role for someone with 15–20 years of experience in pharmacy domain data models. The engagement is expected to last 12–14 weeks, and work hours are flexible as long as deliverables are completed on time.

What you will do

  • Lead discovery for pharmacy data modernization initiatives, build the target state roadmap, and develop the implementation plan for execution.
  • Design end to end target state architectures for core pharmacy systems and integration frameworks that support the roadmap.
  • Set architecture standards for processing pharmacy and health data under HIPAA and other healthcare privacy regulations.

What they are looking for

  • Strong pharmacy domain background with experience across both provider and payer side clients, since this engagement spans a provider environment.
  • Has led a pharmacy data modernization transformation before, from discovery through roadmap and implementation, in a client facing capacity.
  • Comfortable stepping into an existing delivery team and carrying credibility with the client from day one.
  • 10+ years in pharmacy technology, with a prior architect title (not a senior developer with architecture duties added on).
  • Big Four consulting background preferred.
  • Comfortable presenting architecture decisions directly to VP/CFO level stakeholders.

Technical skills

  • Healthcare interoperability: experience across acute care, primary care, PBM, or pharma R&D data ecosystems.
  • Data and cloud fabric: working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks.
  • NCPDP telecom standards, claims adjudication, formulary and benefit design logic.
  • HL7/FHIR exposure where pharmacy data touches clinical systems.

Details

The role is remote within the United States. The engagement is long term, expected to run 12–14 weeks. Work hours are flexible as long as deliverables are completed on time.
