Databricks · United States · posted 6 days ago
Databricks is hiring a Global Genie Sales Leader to lead a team of specialists growing the Databricks Genie business worldwide. The role sits across Sales, Product, and Engineering and is for someone who can both run a specialist sales team and build a new sales motion across a global field organization. The position is based in the United States.
Databricks Genie extends the Data Intelligence Platform into conversational AI through Genie One, an AI co-worker for non-technical business teams and leaders. The Genie One Ontology grounds query accuracy in business context, so decision-makers can query and analyze governed enterprise data in natural language. The role is aimed at organizations moving from legacy BI tools, static dashboards, and separate AI interfaces toward a unified, conversational data platform.
What you will do
- Build and exceed quarterly and annual consumption and booking targets for Genie.
- Develop pipeline across legacy BI migration, AI-driven business intelligence, and enterprise-wide data access opportunities.
- Help customers replace or modernize legacy BI tools and point solutions, positioning Databricks as their primary conversational analytics platform.
- Establish repeatable sales plays that drive land and expand adoption.
- Recruit, hire, and develop a team of Genie Sales Specialists.
- Coach the team on complex deal strategy, technical qualification, and executive engagement.
- Create a culture of accountability, customer focus, and operational excellence.
- Partner with regional sales leadership to integrate specialists into account plans and territory strategies.
- Establish executive relationships with corporate executives, CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, platform leaders, and technical decision makers.
- Position Databricks as an application data platform in addition to a data and AI platform.
- Support strategic customers pursuing application modernization or real-time digital transformation.
- Collaborate with cloud providers, SIs, and ISVs to accelerate adoption.
- Act as the voice of the field to Product and Engineering, with structured feedback on customer requirements, competitive dynamics, and market adoption patterns.
- Partner with Product Marketing to refine messaging, positioning, and competitive differentiation.
- Help shape Databricks' long-term AI/BI and enterprise data intelligence platform strategy.
What they are looking for
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise software, SaaS, cloud platform, or developer platform sales.
- 5+ years leading high-performing enterprise sales or specialist teams.
- Demonstrated success building new categories or scaling new product businesses.
- Previous sales experience at fast-paced, innovative startups in domains such as cowork, search, AI/BI, and conversational AI.
- Strong understanding of modern application architectures, including APIs, microservices, real-time systems, and distributed applications.
- Experience selling into CIO, CTO, architecture, and platform engineering organizations.
- Ability to lead complex multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles.
- A record of exceeding revenue targets in highly competitive markets.
- Ability to translate technical platform capabilities into business value for executives and developers.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
