Revenue Cycle Specialist II (Commercial Collections)

This is a commercial collections role on the Patient Financial Services team at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. It is for someone with advanced knowledge of a specialized revenue cycle function who can work independently, follow established billing and collections practices, and handle account follow-up without close supervision. The position is remote, but only in certain states.

What you will do

Under general supervision, you will provide commercial collections support to Patient Financial Services. Duties may include reviewing and resubmitting claims to third party payors, performing account follow-up activities, and updating information on accounts.

• Monitor assigned work queues and workload, making sure accounts are resolved timely and accurately.
• Process incoming correspondence based on reason code.
• Make sure information on the account is complete and accurate.
• Follow payment timeline protocol and help other team members resolve accounts when needed.
• Enter data accurately, use activity codes properly, and follow the department's documentation standards while keeping acceptable speed and accuracy.
• Participate in department meetings and give management feedback on how to improve department processes.
• Follow verbal and written instructions to achieve desired results.
• Raise issues or problems to your supervisor.
• Use Cedars-Sinai core patient accounting systems and department-specific systems effectively.

You need strong customer service, analytic and prioritization skills, and the ability to understand, interpret and explain payor contracts and Cedars-Sinai billing and collections policy and practices. You may be cross-trained in other revenue cycle functions and provide back-up coverage. Incumbents may assist other team members.

Approved remote states are Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon and Texas.
