Revenue Cycle Specialist I (Cash Management)

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is hiring a Revenue Cycle Specialist I in cash management. This is a billing support role within Patient Financial Services, focused on payment posting and account follow-up. It suits someone with a basic knowledge of revenue cycle work who can organize and prioritize tasks and follow established practices, policies, and guidelines.

What you will do

• Post payments to support revenue cycle operations
• Identify denials for follow up
• Perform account follow up activities
• Update information on accounts
• Process incoming correspondence based on reason code, timely and accurately
• Monitor assigned work queues and workload, resolving accounts in a timely and accurate manner
• Confirm information on the account is complete and accurate
• Follow payment timeline protocol
• Assist other team members with resolution of accounts when needed
• Enter data into fields correctly and maintain acceptable levels of speed and accuracy
• Use activity codes and follow the department's documentation standards
• Use Cedars-Sinai core patient accounting systems and department-specific systems effectively
• Take initiative on issues or problems by advancing them to a supervisor
• Participate in department meetings and give management feedback on how to improve department processes
• Follow verbal and written instructions to achieve desired results
