Fin Care Specialist I (Customer Service)

This is a patient financial services role at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, working remotely from an approved state. You handle customer inquiries, concerns and issues that come into Patient Financial Services, and you follow up on accounts until payment and resolution are reached.

It suits someone with advanced knowledge of a specialized revenue cycle function and a full understanding of the revenue cycle overall. The work is independent, so you need strong customer service skills, the ability to deescalate issues quickly, and the ability to talk, think and move through the system at the same time.

What you will do

Under general supervision and following established practices, policies and guidelines, you provide patient relations support to Patient Financial Services. Your duties include:

• Identifying, analyzing, resolving and responding to customer inquiries, concerns and issues
• Following up on accounts to ensure payment and resolution
• Understanding, interpreting and explaining payor contracts and CSMC billing and collections policy and practices
• Working independently to reach maximum customer satisfaction
• Possibly being cross-trained in other revenue cycle functions and providing back-up coverage
