The Role of Golang in Our Engineering Team

Golang Engineer Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality, well-documented Golang software

  • Debug and resolve technical issues for users

  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions

  • Collaborate with teams and open-source communities on technical specifications

  • Optimize engineering and operations practices

  • Deploy and manage distributed services developed by the team

  • Contribute to technical advocacy for the success of our products

What We Look for in a Golang Engineer

  • Strong academic background in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent experience

  • Proven track record of exceeding expectations and delivering results

  • Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines

  • Professional interaction with colleagues, partners, and the open-source community

  • Extensive experience in Golang development on Linux

  • Deep understanding of Linux system-level development

  • Senior candidates: Experience in building, deploying, and managing distributed systems

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Ability to travel twice a year for company events

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience developing for Ubuntu Linux

  • Knowledge of Juju, LXD, MicroK8s, Snapd, Ubuntu Core, Ubuntu Pro

  • Expertise in performance optimization and security best practices
