Technical Architect - ServiceNow at Bolt Data — remote job on CafeRemote

Bolt Data is hiring a Technical Architect to lead ServiceNow implementations for clients and internal teams. The role sits inside project teams, where you design and build the overall solution, handle custom development and integrations, and see the work through to support handover. It is a fit for someone with deep ServiceNow architecture experience who also wants to coach junior team members and help shape how the practice delivers.

What you will do

  • Build working relationships with client and project stakeholders, and keep them updated on delivery, risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Lead requirements gathering and solution design, influencing decisions on effectiveness, dependability, flexibility, scalability, supportability, and total cost
  • Partner with the Solution Architect to write technical specifications for custom development and system integration, including estimates for time, cost, and resources
  • Develop detailed technical design documents that align to solution design specifications
  • Work between clients, project leads, and other delivery teams, including vendors, to communicate status, drive delivery, manage risks, and remove barriers
  • Lead technology design, configuration, and development across multiple projects, including database and environment migrations
  • Document the final solution and lead knowledge transition to the client support team
  • Help develop and validate estimates for Change Orders, and contribute to estimating and SOW templates for future phases
  • Follow and help define coding standards, and lead code reviews during projects
  • Coach and mentor junior technical and functional team members
  • Participate in peer reviews of colleagues' solution designs
  • Support Bolt Data sales activities and practice maturation initiatives

What they are looking for

  • 8+ years of hands-on technical experience with ServiceNow implementations, including at least 5 enterprise-level technology projects
  • 8+ years of software implementation experience with one or more CRM solutions such as Oracle, Salesforce.com, SAP, or Siebel; configuration experience is required
  • 4+ years working within the ServiceNow ecosystem as a Technical Architect
  • Expert-level understanding of the ServiceNow product suite, including CRM, Customer Service Management, Field Service Management, and Sales and Order Management
  • Experience defining system architecture, identifying gaps between current and desired end states, and delivering solutions that meet business outcomes
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and experience integrating ServiceNow with systems such as ETL, CPQ, marketing automation, and reporting
  • Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth)
  • Understanding of design patterns, large data volume limitations, and data sharing and visibility considerations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, plus experience in computer operations, system analysis, programming, project implementations, and technical management
  • Field service experience, including customer service management and call center support
  • Understanding of one or more architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, DODAF, FEAF, or Gartner/Meta
  • Experience with APIs, APEX, Force.com, .Net, Java, JavaScript, XML, web services, HTML, SSO, data loaders, and messaging
  • Experience with RDMS concepts and structures, SQL, structured system analysis and design, and data migration
  • Experience with system integrations, preferably involving ServiceNow
  • Ability to migrate configurations and code between environments using industry standard tools
  • Experience with software delivery lifecycle methodologies such as Agile and project management methodologies such as PMBOK, with the ability to manage multiple projects to aggressive timelines
  • Understanding of field service resource management, contractors, timesheets, operating hours, shifts, primary and secondary territory setup, and inventory management
  • Experience working independently and within cross-functional and cross-vendor teams
