Remote Accountant Job (U.S.) – GAAP & Month-End Close

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the month-end close process including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial reporting
  
  
• Maintain an accurate general ledger and supporting documentation
  
  
• Manage and improve accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  
  
• Oversee vendor payments, client invoicing, and collections support
  
  
• Track revenue, cost of goods sold (COGS), and service margins
  
  
• Partner with leadership to deliver profitability reporting and financial insights
  
  
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
  
  
• Coordinate with external CPA firms for year-end reporting and tax filings
  
  
• Maintain internal controls and improve accounting workflows through automation
  
  

Required Qualifications
 

• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience (agency, professional services, or SaaS preferred)
  
  
• Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and month-end close processes
  
  
• Experience handling reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
  
  
• Proficiency with modern accounting tools such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms
  
  
• Experience managing AP/AR cycles and client invoicing
  
  
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, structured models)
  
  
• Experience collaborating with external CPA or tax providers
  
  
• Excellent written English and strong async communication skills
  
  
• Ability to overlap at least 4 hours with Pacific Time
  
  
• Must reside in the United States and be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
